What we believe
Here at The Refuge, we recognize that our children are gifts from God for the future of the world and the church. We believe that it is our responsibility as believers to build and foster the faith of our children through relationship, mentorship, and leadership. RefugeKids is our response to that call.
It is our sincere desire that each week our children are excited about the experience they have in RefugeKids classes. Our goal is that they are able to develop a desire to be in relationship with Jesus and that this will create excitement in their hearts, as it does for all followers of our loving Father, no matter how old!
about our volunteers
Our dedicated volunteers, who have responded to God’s calling with glad hearts, believe that every child has the right to be loved and extended God’s grace first and foremost. By leading with this belief and fostering caring relationships, volunteers lead children nursery age through fifth grade each week in activities and lessons designed to build a firm foundation in who God is, how He loves us, and how we can show our love to Him. These lessons and activities are designed to be fun, engaging, and meaningful so that children can learn not only about the grace and love of God, but about His desire for us to experience joy in Him.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Please sign in your child before service begins! If your child is 0-3, they can be dropped off in the nursery right away. Any child 3 or more years old is invited to sit with their parents during the worship service. At the end of worship, Pastor Gerry will dismiss the children to attend their class. They will then learn an enriching, Bible-based lesson. There is usually a hands on activity and a snack. Your child can be picked up as soon as service is over.
Nursery: 0-3 years
Kids Class: up to 5th grade
